Created with pastel chalks, this vibrant Mardi Gras mask is inspired by the colourful energy, music, and celebration of festivals and bands our family had the opportunity to work with throughout Alberta, Canada.
The piece captures the spirit of community gatherings—the lively atmosphere, expressive colours, music, costumes, and sense of joy that come alive during festivals. The mask represents more than celebration; it reflects memories, family experiences, and the connections created through years of being surrounded by music, art, and community.
Through bold pastel colours and expressive details, this artwork celebrates the freedom to be creative, embrace individuality, and let your spirit shine. It is a tribute to the people, places, and experiences that have helped shape our family's love of festivals and the arts.
